Work description

Countless cables are sprawled eerily all over the floor like inner organs. Upon closer inspection, some small towers are erected amidst them, and they are made from the copper wires taken from the inside of the cables. The cables are compiled together erratically to form hilly mounds, with some of them winding and complex like freeways, which appear like an urban infrastructure. The towers look like parasitic growths attached to the organs and are also like self-destructive viruses. The delicate scenery composed by the cables doesn’t appear to have a beginning or an end, but when the cables are connected to the electrical outlet of the museum, the structure is also directly linked to the energy source in the real world society.
The 311 disaster has brutally exposed the heavy reliance that the Japanese everyday life has on the invisible energy source, electricity. This unstable landscape could also be considered a form of invisible everyday life.
